Even small fires can cause significant damage. In the event that chemicals are burned, the soot or smoke can be especially dangerous to breathe in. After the fire has been put out, the scene needs to be properly ventilated and all belongings should be professionally cleaned and sanitized to prevent smoke damage.
Chemical Fire in Fishtown
While this home was on the market, there was a chemical fire in the utility sink in the basement. While chemical fires don’t produce visible flames, a smoldering smoke did fill the house. The HOW Restoration team arrived at this Philadelphia home and completed the following:
- Cleaned every inch of the place
- Sealed out the floor joists
- Used thermal fogger & ozone generator to get rid of chemical / smoke smell
- Performed duct work cleaning
After the job was done, the house was sold without a hiccup. Browse photos of this project below.
